Skroll Terms of Service

Last updated: August 27, 2026

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the Skroll mobile application (the “App”), developed and operated by Focus Web & Database Services LLC (“we”, “our”). By downloading, installing or using Skroll, you accept these Terms in full. If you do not agree, you must not use the App.

1. Service description

Skroll is an app that lets users track the time they spend on the social media apps they select within the App, set focus timers, and manage blocking limits to reduce digital distractions. Skroll logs app foreground timestamps solely to enforce usage limits and display statistics; it does not access, monitor, or store the private content viewed inside third-party social apps.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use Skroll, or have parent/guardian consent if required by the laws of your country.

3. User account

  • You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential.
  • You must provide truthful information when creating your account.
  • You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.
  • You may request account and data deletion at any time in the App under Subscription → Delete my data once any active paid subscription period has expired.

4. Permitted use

You agree to use Skroll only for personal, lawful purposes. You must not:

  • Attempt to modify, decompile, or reverse-engineer the App.
  • Use the App for purposes other than tracking your own social media usage or focus time.
  • Attempt to breach the App’s security or access other users’ data.
  • Use the App in a way that violates applicable laws.

5. Required Device Permissions

To detect application open events, render blocking screens over target apps, and maintain background focus timers, Skroll requests the following operating system permissions:

  • Usage Access (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS): Required to identify foreground application changes and calculate session usage time.
  • Display Over Other Apps / Overlay (SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW): Required to present the blocking interface screen when app limits are reached.
  • Ignore Battery Optimizations: Required to keep background blocking services running continuously without operating system interruption.
  • Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): Used to deliver focus timer alerts and operational updates.

You may revoke permissions in device settings at any time, though doing so will disable core blocking functionality.

6. Intellectual property

All content, design, branding, logo and code of Skroll are the property of Focus Web & Database Services LLC or its licensors, and are protected by intellectual property laws. No rights over these are granted to you except the limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App under these Terms.

7. Access Tiers, Subscriptions, and Payments

Skroll provides three distinct usage tiers:

7.1 Free Tier

The Free tier includes access limited to a maximum of 5 app blockings per day. This tier allows you to evaluate Skroll’s features without a payment method.

7.2 Paid Subscriptions (Monthly & Yearly)

To remove blocking limits, Skroll offers two auto-renewing subscription options:

  • Monthly Subscription: $5.99 USD per month for unlimited app blockings.
  • Yearly Subscription: $49.99 USD per year for unlimited app blockings.

7.3 Subscription Management & Cancellation

  • Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing cycle unless cancelled prior to the renewal date.
  • Payment processing, renewals, and cancellations are handled securely through Google Play Billing (or Apple App Store).
  • You can manage or cancel your active subscription directly inside the App by tapping Manage Subscription under the Subscription tab, or through your Google Play account settings.
  • Cancellation prevents future billing charges. Access remains active until the end of the current billing period. Partial period refunds are not provided unless required by local law.

7.4 Nature of the tool

Skroll is a support tool to help you build awareness and control over your social media time. Skroll is not a medical or therapeutic treatment and does not replace guidance from a mental health professional. If you feel your social media use is seriously affecting your wellbeing, we recommend seeking additional professional support.

8. Accuracy of information

Skroll calculates usage-time estimates based on data from the device’s operating system. While we strive to provide accurate data, we do not guarantee absolute accuracy, as it can be affected by operating system behavior, multitasking, or other factors outside our control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Focus Web & Database Services LLC will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from use or inability to use the App, including but not limited to data loss or service interruptions. The App is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

10. Changes to the service

We reserve the right to modify, suspend or discontinue the App (in whole or in part) at any time, with or without prior notice.

11. Termination

We may suspend or cancel your access to Skroll if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App and delete your account at any time, as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms periodically. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Continued use of Skroll after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules.
